A contingent from the study group went on tour courtesy of an invitation from Ole Kingston of Daito-ryu Aiki-Jujutsu Enryukai. Great friends with our teachers Popkin and Brogna Senseis, Ole has practised Daito-ryu since 1986. Ole began the Daito-ryu Aiki-Jujutsu Enryukai after Okamoto Sensei passed away in 2015.
We were warmly greeted by our hosts and spent the weekend training hard and trying to absorb as much as we could from this fantastic group.
There was much beer imbibed and laughter shared throughout. They even provided us with home cooked lunch.
I think it’s fair to say we were overwhelmed with the welcoming, kind and generous nature of everyone we met.
The Aiki skills possessed by Ole, Sigurd, Jacob and the rest of the Enryukai members prove how committed and earnest they are about continuing the legacy of Okamoto Sensei. I think he would be very proud of them indeed.
